04-10-11 OLM Systems launches App Store for social workers

The CareMobile App Store represents a fresh and pioneering approach to how mobile working is conducted within social care. The solution, designed with simplicity at its heart, ensures frontline workers gain valuable time, have access to client records on the move and record information more accurately.

Following a successful alpha and beta programme, with Devon County Council, Hull City Council and Southend on Sea Borough Council, the CareMobile App Store is now available on general release. It delivers mobile functionality in a cost effective way through easy to use, bite size Apps. Key Apps include ‘Lone Worker’, which facilitates safer working practices, and ‘Briefcase’ that enables the download of client information for upcoming visits.

Frontline staff are provided with online or offline access to case information whilst away from the office. The CareMobile App Store is available on all platforms including tablet, netbook and smartphone devices.

Peter O’Hara, Chief Executive of OLM Group, stated; “We are dedicated to making life easier for everyone in social care. We have found that customers that have implemented mobile working have found it delivers real benefits, enabling social workers to spend more time with their clients.

The CareMobile App Store enables social care organisations to adopt flexible mobile working in a quick and cost-effective way. It provides a standardised platform to support the different business needs of care workers from social workers to support staff.

Critically, it has been designed to offer full support to multiple mobile platforms and devices, enabling LA’s to maximise the investment they have already made.

“I am delighted that OLM Systems continue to produce industry leading technology that can enable transformation in service delivery.”

Claire Brown from Hull City Council, an authority that is rolling out the App Store technology commented; “Introducing innovative mobile working technology to the Adult Social Care Teams will increase productivity and promote joint health and social care working, ensuring that the availability of social workers and their expertise is maximised to improve the quality of care offered to vulnerable adults.”
