CareXchange

The drive to break down barriers and put the citizen at the centre of a choice based model of public services remains at the heart of the government's modernisation agenda. Taking the complexity out of information sharing remains the number one challenge facing IT suppliers to the public sector, and this is no more evident than in social care and health. The pace of change is accelerating towards an integrated, joined up mode that will fundamentally alter the care landscape in the coming years. Driven by key initiatives care such as Single Assessment for Older People (SAP), the Electronic Social Care Record (ESCR), the NHS's NPfIT programme together with the move to Children's Trusts, the Integrated Children's System and the Information Sharing (IRT/ISA), information sharing is firmly at the centre of IT development in social care. At the core of this policy change will be the development of a citizen-centric approach to care that focuses on enabling choice and assessing needs that are met through a more diverse service model.

OLM's response has been to work with our partner customers to shape our e.care strategy and inform our design and development approach. Through this customer partnership programme, OLM have designed a component based architecture built to deliver proven solutions to information sharing and multi-agency working. The CareXchange suite of products is the result of this extensive programme of development.
