Wolverhampton City Council implements case management solution

Wolverhampton City Council announces today that it has gone live with a person-focused case management system deployed under Phase 1 of the Social Care Programme (SCP). CareFirst V6, from OLM Group, the UK's largest independent supplier of information solutions for children's and adult services, is being accessed by up to 800 trained users within Wolverhampton City Council.

The SCP is a £9.3 million transformation programme in which Wolverhampton City Council has partnered with OLM Group in order to deliver a range of business benefits across its adults and community services and children and young people's services including:
- Increased choice and control for customer
- Increased service efficiency and effectiveness
- Shift in balance between paper based and electronic forms
- More informed interventions and timely responses
- Better risk management for vulnerable children and adults
- Improved data quality
- More efficient workload management
- Improved performance management at different levels of the organisation
- Improved access to professional Social Work practice knowledge
- Policy compliance including ICS
- Service/system integration, providing the capacity to adapt to changing service requirements and joint working with partner agencies

Phase 1 has focused on a number of key council objectives, including meeting national policy compliance requirements and replacing legacy mainframe systems with CareFirst V6 functionality.

Phase 2 of the programme will see the introduction of an Electronic Social Care Record (ESCR) supported by mobile working to deliver further business benefits for the Council, its partners and service users. During Phase 2, OLM Group will continue to provide consultancy services to support the SCP in this major service improvement programme for the Council.
