OLM Group helps councils achieve slice of the £33 million CAF fund

OLM Group has supported Shropshire County Council and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council in their successful bids to the Department of Health for a three year pilot Common Assessment Framework (CAF) programme. Both councils have been awarded a slice of the £33 million fund.
Shropshire and Stockport were among just nine local authority partnerships which have been selected for phase 1 of the CAF Common Assessment Framework for the Adults Demonstrator Site Programme to develop and test improved information sharing across health, social care and wider community support services. Each project is concerned with a different area of adult social care; the Shropshire programme focuses on residents with learning disabilities, while Stockport concentrates on the area of continuing care.
Peter O'Hara, CEO at OLM Group said: 'We are extremely proud that our partnership with Shropshire and Stockport has supported their bids for government funding. Both councils endured a rigorous selection process and were successful with the submission of their plans providing exceptional evidence of efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Part of OLM's role in this programme is to provide technology and services to enable information to be shared to support service user choice and efficient service provision. We look forward to working further with Shropshire and Stockport.'
Councillor Barbara Craig from Shropshire County Council said: 'Receiving a £1.1 million award is a significant achievement for Shropshire County Council. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with OLM Group and working with our partners to benefit the lives of some of the County's most vulnerable residents.'
Terry Dafter, Service Director Adult Social Care, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council enthused: 'This is great news for us and through our work with OLM Group we aim to make a real difference to the lives of each and every service user within our borough.'
